Climbing up through and through
the vines and tentacles,
Watching with primate abandon
The arthropods lovingly traverse the earth,
Free for a moment of this isocortical cell,
Breathing in the beam of gods scattered gaze
Here in the light I find myself,
Warm and present,
Separate from the dark filamentary,
Awake for this singular moment
Observing the assemblage of time
As it progresses, taking us with it
Combining these separate pieces of ourselves
Into being
Howling with purpose,
Meaning courses through arterial ways
And I bare teeth at any and all vertebrates
That dare unseat us
From these branches of insight
Glowing in the aerial gloom
